Childbirth Education Classes

Come to a 3 hours interactive childbirth education class to learn all about childbirth, advocacy, laboring positions, and more! We want to help you feel prepared and excited for childbirth. This class is taught by a birth & postpartum doula.

The classes are either taught by Alexandra Harper-Brees or Elizabeth B.

All Classes will be on Saturdays from 9am-12pm

Class size is limited to 10-12 couples (if class is full, you can contact us to be added to the waitlist)

Each Ticket covers one pregnant person with a partner or a support person.

Other Childbirth Education Classes

Come to a The Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class that is all online and is taught over 4 or 6 weeks with a combination of online videos, resources and weekly live classes. Payment method: cash/card, FSA/HSA Card. 2 Scholarship spots per cohort to ensure it’s accessible. It can also be covered by Michigan Medicaid.

This rate helps cover the basic cost of the class - help for the instructor fee and materials. Any excess funds is used to pay the instructor a more sustainable wage and allow Better Birth Jackson to offer more classes in the future.

Breastfeeding Education Classes

Come to an interactive 3 hours online class to learn all about breastfeeding and bottle feeding techniques and information to empower you and your partner for a successful infant feeding journey! This class is taught by a lactation professional.

The classes are either taught by Keana Lofton (CBS) or Elizabeth Ferrell (IBCLC)

All Classes will be on Saturdays from 9am-12pm

Class size is limited to 10-12 couples (if class is full, contact us to be added to the waitlist)

Each Ticket covers one pregnant person with a partner or a support person.

Postpartum Prep Classes

Come to an interactive 2.5 hours class to learn about postpartum physical recovery, newborn care, mental health, relationship dynamics and basic feeding techniques. As well as tips to prepare for postpartum before your baby comes.

This one will be taught by either doula Toni Auker or Cynthia Gabriel (Ph.D.) of Tree Town Doulas & Nest & Nurture in Ann Arbor, MI

All Classes will be on Weekdays from 6-8:30pm

Class size is limited to 10-12 couples (if class is full, contact us to be added to the waitlist)

One-on-One Childbirth Education or Breastfeeding Classes

Some of our doulas can make customized virtual or in-home childbirth or breastfeeding classes. Fill out the contact form and we’ll send you more information.

Kristen Schell can offer one-on-one online Evidence Based Birth Classes. It can be covered by cash/card, MI Medicaid, FSA/HSA.
