Birth Doulas

Birth doulas are your guide for bearing a child.

They provide prenatal appointments during which you can learn about common interventions during birth, pros & cons to hospital procedures, natural ways to endure contractions, labor poses, what to pack in a hospital bag, basic newborn care, and more.

Birth doulas are on-call 24/7, usually from week 38 of your pregnancy until you give birth. This ensures that they are always ready to be by your side, encouraging you, advocating for you, supporting you, and helping you work through every step of your labor to the birth of your child. They may do massage or counter-pressure to help take the edge off labor. They may suggest positions to help baby’s descent or encourage labor to go quicker. They may help you process big decisions as you make them during the birth.

Birth doulas stay at the birth setting during the immediate postpartum, helping you start breastfeeding, bonding, and ensure your recovery is going smoothly. They usually also do one postpartum visit to make sure you are getting enough sleep, support, and nutrition during newborn days.

All of our doulas provide birth doula services.
