Standards of Professionalism for Better Birth Jackson Doulas

We are united in how we are committed to our community and wanting to improve birth experiences and outcomes for the families we serve.

• All doulas were trained by a professional and well respected doula organization. Some chose to get certified but it’s not required.

• All doulas sign and adhere to our code of ethics and work within scope of practice as a doula

• All doulas pay a yearly fee towards BBJ’s work including their web listing

• Doulas commit to keeping BBJ a safe and inclusive space for birthworkers and clients, free from judgement or ridicule

• All doulas commit to continuing education, and using the most up-to-date evidence based information

• All doulas attend outreach events, regularly attend meetings, and work creatively towards improving Jackson’s birth outcomes
